IAG Cargo and Finnair Cargo have signed an agreement to share space on a freighter service between London Luton and Helsinki airports as the two carriers map out a new strategy following their decision not to operate their own cargo aircraft.
Lufthansa Cargo managed to increase traffic in November despite ongoing strikes by pilots, while its leading European rivals posted lower volumes as they prepare to downsize their freighter operations.
Finnish air freight carrier Finnair Cargo has used Route Exchange, an online platform where airports and airlines can exchange data and information regarding potential new routes, to open a new base in Brussels.
